OMD® Training Information

General Guidelines

All OMD classes involve hands-on, computer-based training, so you should have a working knowledge of computer operation prior to attending any OMD class. To achieve the greatest benefit from your class time, OMD also highly recommends that you take time to familiarize yourself with the basic operation of OMD software prior to attending class. The OMD help book Tour OMD—which can be accessed by clicking Contents under the Help menu—provides exercises that can help you become familiar with the software and thus get more out of class.

If you have any questions about class or need assistance with training prior to attending class, contact or call OMD toll free at (866) 440-8664.

Courses Offered at the OMD Virtual Campus

The OMD Virtual Campus offers the same expert training that has been available at the OMD corporate offices, but now it is no farther away than your desktop. Students will follow on their PCs as the instructor presents material on-line. They can participate via phone and instant messaging (IM). A course guide and specialized training material (such as a custom database or CLASS directory) are available for download before the course. This allows students to be fully prepared before class begins. After class, they can use this material to practice what they have learned.

Most training days are split into two sessions: morning and afternoon. The break between these sessions allows students time for hands-on review as well as catching up with phone calls, email, and lunch. To get the most out of these sessions, it is best to plan on devoting the majority of the day to the training sessions and review, so try to schedule your time accordingly. Please let coworkers know that you will not be returning calls and messages during the training sessions.

As a courtesy to other attendees, students are asked to mute their phones to avoid background noise from their office environment. You will be able to "raise your hand" to ask a question by phone or the instant messaging built into meeting software.
